I have not been keeping up around here as well because of my crazy insane obligations at work. I even brought work home this weekend, which is just stupid. I probably will not do it. I feel complacent though, because I am beginning to accept the demands of my work as just status quo. But on the other hand...or perhaps my right brain...I am rebelling and trying to maintain my personal life and my obligations to myself by keeping up with my art, my friends, my health, my husband, my family, and belly dance (which I was dumb enough to give up...but not for too much longer.)
Too bad we all have to work, huh? If any of my friends out there create art full time, I commend you. And envy, as well. I think you are awesome.
By the way, the work is not all bad. Since I am a designer and design e-learning for a living, I do get to be somewhat creative. But corporate creativity is just not at all the same.
What's New...
Published Friends:
Rebecca Brock's Abominations

Rebecca's new book is a collection of short stories...all horror, and mostly zombie. I have to tell you, I first got into her writing with Omnibucket's Brainchild. Her stories, as well as David Wellington's, gave me nightmares, which usually never happens. So, if you love horror, check out her stuff. It is intense and will really get to you. You can get more info on Rebecca here: [link]
You can buy the book here: [link]
Janet Baskerville - Jewelry Designer
Janet's works have been featured in 1000 Jewelry Inspirations

I totally dig Janet's work. I own five of her creations, mostly her lariats. I love wearing her stuff. She has an etsy shop here: [link]
Artist of the Week: perception-obscure
Take a moment to visit =perception-obscure. I enjoy her art, plus I alway enjoy how she sees and presents the art of so many artists here on dA. Be sure to check out the news articles she has written.

Your Help Needed...
`hyper-psycho is doing a bike event in Savannah to raise money for MS. He needs donations for his individual goal of $250 to get him there to participate in the event. If you want to donate to MS research and his ride, click here. Even $5 or $10 would help get him closer. Thanks for checking it out.

Artist Statements I found this resource to help me with writing it. I think it is helpful to sort of layout some thoughts, so I'll share it with you if you want to use it for yours... [link]

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
